Trauma Informed Case Management

Family Promise recognizes homelessness as a traumatic experience for families with children and promotes an environment of healing and recovery. To alleviate the trauma of homelessness, we stabilize families through shelter and then provide additional support through our trauma-informed approach to case management.

Case Managers apply the core components of Trauma Informed Care to the intervention process and assess each families’ strengths to use as tools for recovery. Each family in our program creates a comprehensive case management plan for stability and independence.

Core Components of Trauma Informed Care:

  • Safety

  • Trustworthiness

  • Choice

  • Collaboration

  • Empowerment
