Jeff Wilhite has been the Executive Director of Family Promise of Summit County since February 18, 2013. Prior to joining Family Promise, Jeff served as Deputy Mayor for Administration for the City of Akron and Managing Partner for Hydrogen Energy Systems, an alternative energy concern.
Jeff and his wife, Cindy, live in Akron and are the very proud grandparents of Olivia and Emilia. They have two grown children, their son Jordan (daughter-in-law Laura) and daughter Katie. Their newest family member is 9-month-old puppy, Penny, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
While not at work, Jeff and Cindy enjoy cycling the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trails and the Cleveland Metro Parks Emerald Necklace of Trails. Jeff’s favorite thing about working at Family Promise is assisting families in staying together, “That is the only way they can heal and become sustainable.”, says Jeff. In addition to Family Promise, Jeff serves the community as the Summit County Council District 4 Representative and is currently the President of Summit County Council.
